This sounds like a wonderful shul, Brian -- very inclusive.  Where is it?
Is it affiliated with a particular branch of Judaism?

I very much want to feel that the separation between men and women is not a
misogynistic thing.  I defend it to my non-Jewish friends.  But my
gut-level experience of it is quite uncomfortable.  Unfortunately I have
never seen it in combination with full participation of the women of the
congregation.
