There is a CD entitled (I think) "Music from the Camp of Terezin" it is
a European label.
Your student might be interested in the works of 4 composers who
composed music during their internment at this camp. The most widely
played are the works of Victor Ullmann, who was a gifted composer. His
chamber opera, "Der Kaiser von Atlantis" has recently been performed
numerous times here in Paris, and I know it made a tour of Europe. It
is an extremely ironic piece, written under great duress at Terezin,
well worth listening to, even for a 6th grader. (It isn't long, but you
must have a translation in front of you.) There are 2 CD recordings of
it on the market.
I hope this helps.
