Hello!

My name is Michael Hersher.  I am active in Congregation B'nai Israel in
Sacramento, CA where I do songleading for various services and religious
school events.  I am 47 years old, the father of three children (18, 15, and
8), married for almost 25 years, and a lawyer.  I am a life long folksinger
and community activist, but a recent a returnee to Judaism.  I have been
learning the sacred and folk music of the Jewish tradition as fast as I can.
 My mission is to incorporate more of the contemporary music that's being
composed everyday into the regular worship practices of our congregation.  In
particular, there is a crying need for participation that is not being met.
 This group looks like the perfect source for information on workshops and
practical tips.  I look forward to hearing from you and sharing the joy of
song.
