[HANASHIR:16982] Re: midrash explanation



Cantor Ellen Dreskin told us the following Midrash at
Hava Nashira a few years ago: (this is what I
remember):

"When Jacob was lying on his death bed surrounded by
his sons, he was extremely concerned that after his
death his sons will not carry on the belief in the one
G-D. Hearing this, the sons replied: "Sh'ma Yisrael,
Adonai Eloheinu, Adonai Echad" Hear O Israel (Jacob's
other name) Adonai is our G-D, Adonai is one).
Relieved, Jacob whispered with his last Breath:
"Baruch Shem K'vod Malchuto L'olam Va'ed! 

A nice Midrash, I think.
