A song that I use every Purim which is highly enjoyed, esp. with the
younger ones, is the Purim Quiz, to the tune of Tumbalalaika, words by
Roz Grossman. They love "figuring out" the right answers!
Tell me, oh tell me, come on take a guess.
Who do I look like, like whom am I dressed?
That's how we'll play, this Purim game,
I'll give you the clues, you give me the name.
I was a Queen once, of high reputation,
Til I said no to one invitation.
This so annoyed his majesty,
That he got rid of Queen ....................!
I've come from Persia to join in this game,
Children have trouble pronouncing my name.
I wear a crown, a scepter, a ring,
My name is ..................... the King!
Long ago I helped the Queen bring us glory,
I'm the old hero in the story.
I would not bow when Haman passed by,
You know my name, it's .................!
People would cheer me when I'd ride about,
Now they use graggers to drown my name out.
Others they cheer and call out, "hooray man"
My name they boo because my name is .................!
Here I am last but not least as they say,
Without me there just would be no holiday.
I put an end to Haman so mean,
By now you have guessed that I'm ............... the Queen!!
Enjoy everyone!
