[HANASHIR:16946] RE: Purim

Friends, this is just a plug if you have 6th, 7th or 8th graders: The
rap that Doug Cotler so graciously has given us to use, is FANTASTIC.
My kids really got into it yesterday; in fact they want to do this in
costume and do it for the whole school. Of course I said YES. We
rehearsed it with a back beat and I accented the words which need more
enunciation. It's a gas and the kids will definitely enjoy it.
However, it's also a great learning tool. If they ask questions (or
even if they don't) you can fill them in on the story.

Thanks Doug !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Subject: [HANASHIR:16877] music online at babaganewz.com

Another great source of online music:

Babaganewz, a magazine for Jewish kids, has an online jukebox known as
the "jpod" where you can hear lots of great tunes. Click on "Artists" or

"A-Z complete" for a longer list of available tunes filed
alphabetically.
Here's the link:

http://www.babaganewz.com/jpod/

There is also a lyrics page available for most songs.

I was particularly taken with the jpod song "T'nu Li Shalom" by the
Hamsa
Brothers, so I made an attempt to write out the transliteration with
chords.
You can find my first draft online at:

http://www.hotshabbat.com/Tnu-Li-Shalom-Hamsa-Boys-lyrics-translit.pdf

Please note that this file is not linked to the hotshabbat home page so
you an only access it from this email. It probably still contains
mistakes so please send me corrections if you notice anything amiss with

either the transliteration or the chords.

If you work with kids, check out the Babaganewz home page, too.
