I love using the Kids for Character videos. Though they are not
specifically Jewish, they do cover the six pillars of character:
*trustworthiness, *respect, *responsibility, *fairness, *caring, and
*citizenship. They use characters that kids know and recognize, and the
songs are great! You can find out more at

CCMP&Category_Code=6
Hope this helps! Gail

Subject: [HANASHIR:16873] RE: videos
Ok friends -- Here's a new thread -- As some of you know, I teach in a
conservative day school. There are times (once or twice a year) when
I'm absent and they can't find a music sub. I'm always on the lookout
for excellent quality videos to play for the kids. For instance, the
older kids may watch one of the series that Wynton Marsalis has
produced, "Why Toes Tap," etc. or they may watch "Stomp," and the
3rd-4th graders may watch "Beethoven Lives Upstairs," but I'm really
kind of clueless as to what to have on hand for the early childhood
kids. I will not just "put on Blues Clues Watches for Rhythm" (I think
they're awful) so I'm asking you, whether you're a parent of a young
child, or maybe some of you (I won't name names) have ever thought of
producing a video of your Jewish/secular stuff! I actually have a
video of "Gemini" (a Jewish duo from the Midwest I believe) and they're
very nice for kids. But that's all I know concerning Judaic content. I
have a few Israeli videos, but quite frankly the quality isn't great
(Shirim Rishonim, etc.) Anyway, any ideas out there? Basically
interested in K-2/3 so let's share!
Thanks,
Meris Ruzow
