[HANASHIR:16575] RE: Tu B'Shevat Songs

Someone was looking for "Shir Ilan" and I just found it -- It's on the
CD, "Shir Mi-libeinu, A song from our Heart and is a beautiful,
beautiful song. I believe it's 3 part harmony and with good singers it
makes quite a beautiful impression. Nice harmonies but this is not a
"Sunday school" song in my opinion. If you have a few cantorial
soloists who'd like to do it together or have a strong singer or two in
jhs, it would be something! It is written by Gordon Lustig.

"But he whose deeds exceed his learning, who is he like? Like a tree
whose branches are few, but whose roots are many, (that even) when the
winds come and blow against it, they cannot move it from its place."

I would like to find the two Israeli songs that Ellen mentioned.

Ba'ah menuchah la-ya-ge'ah (old time chalutz song) and

Aval Kol She'ma'a'sav (tree your roots are many)

to add to our Tu B'Shevat Seder which is attended primarily by adults.
Does
anyone know where I could find the music in a hurry? My choir starts
rehearsing Tu B'Shevat in a few days.

I'd also like to mention that Fran Avni's Shorashim is a big hit at Tu
B'Shevat at our temple. She has recorded and published it in Eretz -
Israel
World Beat.
