[HANASHIR:16392] refua shelayma names

friday night we do a misheberach for the ill just before readers kaddish
after ameda. shabbat morning of course during torah reading. our list is
also long. the perminent list at first was for members only, with people in
the congregation adding those who they wanted on the list. then as the
"regulars" started to mention the same names week after week, they asked for
names to be added to the perminent list. How do you say no? you can't.
every now and then i take a name or two off the perminent list, only to be
asked to put them back on. The board had a discussion about it and the my
answer was, either call out all the names or no names and just make a
misheberach for all who are ill......the answer was to leave the calling out
of names.

>Hi all!
>
>This one isn't about music, but I've noticed that lots of us lead
>services as well. I need some info on how the permanent Mishebeirach
>list is handled in your congregation. Ours is getting really long, and
>some people we don't even know. We're considering putting only members
>and their families on the list, and asking others to mention friends
>names during the service.
>
>Also, while I'm here, do any of you state relationships during Kaddish
>(name of deceased and relationship to congrgant)?
>
>Thanks for the assist.

>Please respond privately.
