[HANASHIR:16203] Re: need songs for healing service

Raquel, I've been doing services of healing for the past few years and have
found that the favourites are:

Return Again
T'filat HaDerech by D. Friedman
Mi Shebeirach (many melodies from which to choose)
O Guide My Steps (Debra Winston)
Al Kol Eleh by N. Shemer
El Na Refa Na La by D. Friedman
Chazak Chazak by J. Klepper
Al Tasteir (Don't Hide Your Face From Me) by D. Friedman

These titles come to mind without checking through past services. In
addition, the prayers and readings of the service it is attached to,
especially if it is a Shabbat or weekday morning service, seem to come alive
in a different way when people have come for a service of healing. I am
thinking especially of the chanting of Nissim B'chol Yom (Daily Blessings)
and Elohai Neshama and Asher Yatsar. Everyone loves Debbie Friedman's
Elohai Neshama but sometimes I have chosen Rabbi Shefa Gold's Elohai simply
because it is easy to chant and gets everyone involved in a meditative way.
Hope some of this helps.
