Hey Folks,
Regardless of what you think about his politics, Pete Seeger will always be
the quintessential songleader's songleader: Here's a recent interview, just
published in the on-line journal Talking Leaves.

For you younger folks especially, if you haven't immersed yourself in his
music, get a hold of ANY of his live CDs (or videos), listen hard and learn
from the master.
Even his studio recordings are wonderful, btw. (His early recording of Skip
To My Lou, just voice and banjo, is a masterpiece of minimalist art.) You
can often find his CDs in the library.
Btw, Pete recorded a number of Israeli and Yiddish songs. In 1949, he and
the Weavers scored a NUMBER ONE hit on the Top 40 with Tzena Tzena (b/w
Goodnight Irene - it was a true 'double-sided hit') which had been
translated into English, probably the first and only time an Israeli song
reached Number One.
