I absolutely agree with you, Meris, though my previous Rabbi did not.
Interestingly, she tended to leave out the transliteration or the
translation (so she did Hebrew and one of the other two, but not both),
which I thought was just wrong. People who don't read Hebrew feel left
out, and that's a bad thing.
