[HANASHIR:16120] Re: Chanukah song help!

Hi all - just tuning in. Happy pre-Chanukah!!!!

FYI -The songs on LATKES AND HAMENTASHEN are in Holiday Songbook for Kids
(Tara). All of those songs were composed by Jackie Cytrynbaum who was at the
time
(1979) an early childhood music specialist at the JCC nursery school in
Montreal where my daughter was enrolled. Having recently returned from Israel
as a
professional musician/performer etc I was asked to get involved in a small
nursery school PTA project. I began to work with the songs (that were written
FOR/WITH 2, 3, 4 year olds) and realized that they were a wonderful potential
new
resource, and needed to transcend the small community. I fell in love with
the songs and made them "mine", in
terms of style and presentation.

My role was to edit, arrange, re-arrange, perform and produce all of the
material.
We then formed Lemonstone Records together and I became Jackie's voice -
getting the material out to the world. I found Velvel - and the rest is history.

50,000 plus copies later, after 25 years, they still work. Mainly because
each song is a composite lesson, building many skills as well as dealing with
the
particular concept of bringing the holiday to life.
While the sheet music and lyrics are in the book - as well as the words to
our other recordings - MOSTLY MATZAH, THE SEVENTH DAY and a few additional
songs
I wrote for older children, or from Tal Sela, there are however no printed
activities. In workshops on Bringing Holidays to Light... I offer numerous
suggestions for extended activities.

I am back on email so I'd be happy to respond to any queries.
