Hot off the press from the Women Cantors' Network... a little pre-holiday
humor.  I'm sure the author wouldn't mind...


let me share this info with you so you'll be "hip" to the new and improved
versions of song title and composer spellings.....

The ever popular "Dreidl" is now (sorry to report this) "dried".
The famous composer "Goldfarb" is really a "golfer".
"Haya" is "hay" and in a way I guess that makes sense if you're thinking
Hebrew alphabet.
"Nerot" sheds a lot of light on the subject with four choices..."enroot",
"Nero", "merit" and "merlot" (I'll take the merlot, thank you)."
"Maoz Tzur" invites us to pack our bags for the "Mao tour".  oooh, doesn't
that sound like fun?
"Y'malel" (as in Mi Y'malel) has converted and is now enjoying life as an
Irish Catholic...."O'Malley"
Our brave & beloved Maccabees have divided into two groups....
...half of them have gone Scottish with "McCabe" and the others have gone
over to the dark side becoming "macabre" (scary)
Finally, (you know I've saved the best for last) the beautiful and sweet
"Ner Li" has transformed into "Nerd Lid" and you and I both know that the
most famous "Nerd Lid" of all is the one you wear on your head, the yamulke.

May your Chanukah be wonderful and bright and may you "shep naches" ( or
"sheep nachos") from those you love...
