In response to Karen Joseph's request for music for the
V'ahavta prayer, there are two settings in The Jewish Song Book, by
Abraham Zevi Idelsohn (Cincinnati, Publications for Judaism, 1951).
Both use the Pentateuch mode. The version on P. 18 is for Shabbat
Eve, while the version on P. 189 is for the High Holy Days. Because
the book was published when Ashkenazic pronunciation was the
standard, you will have to make adjustments for Sephardic Hebrew
usage. If you do not have a copy of the book, ask your cantor or
organist/accompanist, or check your congregational library where a
copy may be found.
