[HANASHIR:15877] Re: Rossi instrumental music?

Anna, Jacqueline and others,

Yes, some of the choral works of Salamone Rossi might work for brass
quartet. The instrumental music of Rossi is limited to a set of trio
sonatas that are really for strings and wouldn't translate well to
brass. Hope this helps.

Anna,

I suspect that at least some of the choral works would work well for
brass quartet almost as is. At least I can hear them in my head that
way. Other than some transposing, it should not be a problem to use it.
What do others think?

Chaverim --

This request is slightly off the beaten path of this list, but I know
some of you can help me. I'm doing a "Renaissance Shabbat" in February
and would love to include some Rossi instrumental music. I'm looking
for brass pieces in particular. Is Rossi's instrumental oeuvre
published? How can I put my hands on it?

Todah rabah!
