[HANASHIR:15597] RE: Something Completely Different

"Build Me Up Buttercup is downloadable from Real's Rhapsody Music Service
and MusicMatch's new pay per track download service. You pay a monthly
service fee plus a price per download (usually between 79-99 cents.) Both
services are quickly accumulating a fairly decent library. Not much Jewish
or Israeli music, but for those of us trying to "keep it legal" they are
both great sources for Jazz, Rock, Blues, Folk, Classical, World, Comedy,
Pop, Soundtracks/Musicals. I've already downloaded a fair number of tracks
to make into play lists for my MP3 player.

You pay for copies that are downloaded that you can then burn to a CD (or
simply keep for your digital library) but the service fee also entitles you
to listen to the tracks as streaming audio.

I've had lots of fun listening to old stuff by Alvin & The Chipmunks,
Sinatra singing "High Hopes," Tommy Roe singing "Dizzy" and stuff like that.
And now, instead of buying whole CD re-masters of old albums I liked, I can
just get the tracks I want and spend less. An Elton John here and there,
some Carole King, James Taylor, Sonny & Cher, Pete Seeger, John Gorka,
Christine Lavin, Spike Jones, Loudon Wainright III, Monty Python. As
eclectic a mix as I want.

If you're not into downloading and burning tracks, both Real, MusicMatch and
Live365 offer very good subscription streaming audio packages with premium
content you can't get for free. It's quite nice to be able to create your
own custom "radio stations."

I'm currently subscribing to and using all of these services and plan to
review them sometime in the near future.

HI everyone - Strange request - In my day school, my middle school is
working on a project about music through the 60's, 70's and 80's and I need
to find a copy of "Build Me Up Buttercup" (don't gag). Does anyone know how
to get a copy either downloaded (I'll pay) or otherwise without buying an
entire CD? Or 8 - track? :-)
Thanks - You can respond privately to:
