Subject: RE: [HANASHIR:15570] Collecting Shlomo Carlebach Stories (fwd)

I met Reb Shlomo while visiting Jerusalem on my first ever visit to Israel,
16 years ago. I went to a concert with a friend, and Shlomo cruised the
audience looking for visitors from distant lands - when he found out I was
from New Zealand, he welcomed me warmly to Israel, Jerusalem and the
concert, and he invited me ( as he did everyone, I am sure) to visit his
kibbutz. I wasn't able to take up that offer, but I really enjoyed the
concert. It was the only time I ever heard him live, but both before and
after that, his music has made a difference to the teaching I did with kids
on Sunday mornings for 20 years, and to the services at Temple Sinai. We
continue to use and explore his music.
