I read this in a singing magazine or email as a cure for laryngitis:

a shot of whisky, a little lemon juice, a little sugar to sweeten.

I have a slight feeling of something coming on too, SO I'm gearing up on the 
herbals and vitamins. I have no one else to rely on to do the kol nidre or the 
entire service for that matter. I'm doing kol nidrei with piano and cello, so I 
hope I can stave off this precurser laryngitis till after next weekend!!
