Hi Rachelle and anyone else interested,

I have these English verse in the songbook I compiled several years
ago...I apologize that I don't have a source but here it is anyway:

And still the white sail in the distance,
Shines against the blackest cloud
Kol shen'vakeish, lu y'hi
And through the windows of the evening
Flicker festive lights so proud.
Kol shen'vakeish, lu y'hi (chorus)

And now I hear the sound of fighting
Drums are beating trumpets blare
Kol shen'vakeish, lu y'hi
Amid the noise please listen closely
You will hear my simple prayer
Kol shen'vakeish, lu y'hi (chorus)

Within a neighborhood in shadows
Waits a small house all alone
Kol shen'vakeish, lu y'hi
The summer ends, the Journey's over
Let them please at last come home.
Kol shen'vakeish, lu y'hi (chorus)
