[HANASHIR:15074] About Jewish musical options

In response to Rabbi Schachet's request for opportunities for
cantorial soloists to find out what the Jewish musical tradition is,
such an opportunity already exists. The HUC-JIR has been having a
three-year cycle of programs which go into the musical liturgy of the
High Holidays, Festivals, and Shabbat. These take place, on a
rotating basis, each summer at the Cincinnati HUC-JIR.
The programs do require that an attendee must be a member of
the Guild of Temple Musicians. While the GTM is an affiliate of the
American Conference of Cantors (the Reform cantorial organization),
membership is open to any musician involved in synagogue music of any
kind. Interested individuals are welcome to contact the GTM by
submitting an inquiry to me by e-mail for information on GTM
membership.
