[HANASHIR:15018] Re: God Songs

Dear Tiffany,

I am a new member to this listserve, and as a former songleader of SEFTY and
an active member of the American Conference of Cantors, am glad to be a part
of another link in the ongoing dialogue occuring in our Jewish music world.

Many years ago I wrote a song called "In God's Garden" in honor of Sonia
Lieberman, a teacher in our religious whose 25th anniversary with the temple we
were celebrating.
Its' lyric is:
"In God's Garden we go each day, planting seeds along our way, careful as we
work and play to help our garden grow. In God's Garden we take some time, who
knows what we might find? Pretty colors, yours and mine, just like a rainbow.
You can read the book of You. What chapter are you coming to? Just take a
moment or a few to understand all that you can do.
For in God's Garden you can be everything your soul can see. Every
possibility is waiting just for you. In God's Garden you are home, feeling calm
you've
never known, and knowing you are not alone is all you have to do".

We have used this for our early childhood center, HHD family services, Tu
B'shevat, teacher appreciation Shabbat, silent meditation, etc. If you are
interested in obtaining a copy, please fax me at work. It has guitar chords as
well
as a lead sheet.

B'shalom,
Patti
