[HANASHIR:15004] Re: Hin'ni Rabbi-Cantor duet

We usually open Kol Nidre by having all rise and we walk from the back
slowly (carrying the Torahs) to Or Zaruah L'Tzadik-- Sing One line and
response from the choir of the same line. Then go up 1/2 steps each time.
We sing it 7 times with a big ending when we put the Torahs in the ark.

It seems to me that it would be a good idea to use Hen'ni at this point in
the manner you suggest. Facing the ark, have the reader, (in our case, me,
the Rabbi) read the English with the Cantor singing quietly in the
background. Piano accompaniment is good.
I have found an excellent translation of it in Richard Levy's machzor "On
Wings of Awe" Pp297-298 .(In Richard's book Hineni is in the Morning
service for Y.K. but I don't mind using it for Kol Nidre eve.

Thanks for the idea
