[HANASHIR:14947] Re: band music

Wow, Raquel, when you find out, PLEASE let me know! We're starting an
instrumental program in our school this year and I'd love to have a
resource for Jewish band music! The books at Tara seem very elementary
(Israel Band Book), which I'm sure you already have. There's such a
market out there for anyone who wants to do some arranging! (How many
of you remember your transpositions?) My daughter was arranging for me
before she left for college and law school but I bet I could pay her to
do some of this, but alas, who has time....Ein z'man!

Subject: [HANASHIR:14945] Re: band music

our middle school band director, who is not Jewish, has asked me where
he could purchase band arrangements for Jewish songs. This is for
middle school aged kids, ranging from beginning to about 10th grade
level players at Solomon Schechter Academy. (brass, woodwinds and
percussion) I've given him a few simple pieces which he has arranged
himself, but he doesn't have a lot of time to do arrangements and would
like to be able to do more Jewish music for concerts, etc.
Any help woulsd be appreciated!
