[HANASHIR:14912] Re: Orchestral Pieces

Friends, One of the other hats that I wear is being President of an
amazing youth orchestra called, "The Empire State Youth Orchestra." We
have toured Europe, played Carnegie Hall and Tanglewood, and have
enjoyed quite a wonderful (almost) 25 years of existence. We pull from
about 12 counties surrounding Albany, NY and reach into the Berkshires
of Mass. as well.
Anyway, the reason for this post is that I'm looking for ORCHESTRAL
music which accompanies choral. We put on this huge televised holiday
show every year and I need a top notch, first class, no more than 4
minutes or so, Chanukah song which would be sung by a 100 voice chorale
of high school students accompanied by an 85 piece orchestra with lots
of percussion. Does anyone know resources or particular pieces to
recommend? I have access to Josh Jacobson's stuff and Mati Lazar's and
have been in touch with Marsha Bryan Edelman. In fact one year we used
"Drey Dreydelach" of Josh's. (If no one has used it - I recommend it).

Anyway, just wondering if any of you have ties (in YOUR other lives) to
orchestral music. This has to be "audience pleaser" kind of stuff.
Thanks so much for considering.

But he made certain conditions, such as that the layout
of his work may never be changed.
