Hey there, Beth is still pretty new to the Jewish recording business, so I
understand where her comments are coming from, but I do agree with you Noah,
it's not NECESSARY to ask permission to use a song in a service or class. And
by
the way, mazel tov on your hit song!

I always love to hear about when someone is going to use one of my songs,
especially for a special event...that's the whole reason I recorded them, for
others to use them in religious school, in services, etc. etc., NOT to listen
to
my voice over and over again. The songs were written for others to sing. And
maybe this is what Beth meant...it's SO nice to know that someone taught your
song to a class, or sang it at a seder, and I appreciate everyone who has
contacted me in this way.

I know there have been various comments over the years on this list of how
the Jewish music business might not have caught up with the secular music
industry in terms of copyright, etc., but I have to commend my colleagues on
always
striving to get the correct permissions and royalty payments whenever my songs
have been recorded.
