[HANASHIR:14870] Re: Camp CDs

Noah,

While I don't think that every camp produces camp CDs....there are several good
ones available.

First, there is a 3-disc set that is available from Soundswrite (I think) from
Camp Swig/Newman. There is one album from the 70's, one from the 80's, and
another more recent CD. This is one of my favorite collections of Jewish
"camp-style" music. There is a lot of "traditional" hasidik music, as well as
some Carlebach. As a songleader, I found the first two albums from this set
extremely helpful because chords are included to all the songs. Even better,
its only $36.00 for all three CDs. You can find it @
http://www.soundswrite.com/swstore1.html#shirlyom.

Second, Camp Coleman produced a CD last year that I really enjoyed. It has
some modern Israeli music and some of the newer Jewish artists. Rick Recht and
his band play on this album and Rick produced it. Also, Jen Duretz (one of my
favorite people) has a song on here that I love.

Finally, there is a really good CD out by Camp Ramah....called Mei'al HeHarim.
I can't remember where I bought it...but it is also a great resource.

I am sure that there is more out there....this is just what popped into my
head. Hope this helps. If there is anything else I can do for you, let me
know.

Kol Tuv,
James
