[HANASHIR:14736] Re: HANASHIR digest 1926

I believe "Let the Heavens be Glad" was written by Rob Weinberg of Kol Sasson.

Thanks,

Josh Weinberg

I've linked lots more music to hotshabbat.com, including...

"Let the Heavens Be Glad" by Cantor Ellen Dreskin and the other members of
Beged Kefet.

"Shir HaMa-alot," "Yad B'Yad," "Creator of All Things," and "Bay Ana
Rachetz" by Craig Taubman.

"Across the River" by Sam Glaser

"HaFinjan" recorded by the Zamir Chorale

Also new...At the bottom of the page, I've set up a list of about 70 songs
that are notated in the Complete Shireinu, listed by song and page number,
each with an audio link. The site also includes CD purchase info for
nearly every tune.

The CS contains 350 songs (!) so this is only a modest fraction of the
total. But if you want to build your repetoire as a songleader and didn't
make it to HN03--or even if you did--get yourself a copy of the CS and
use this free audio resource to learn some new tunes.

This is also a good summer to build your CD library. Use these previews to
find some recordings that fit your spirit and vocal style and invest in
them. Sing along in the car until you know the melody and lyrics well
enough to face a crowd of mildly hostile pre-teens, and you'll have
unwavering confidence. Weave home-made harmonies through the melody and
teach them to your youth choir. Give a copy to a dear friend who's moved
out of state.

Consider it a way to send a big thank-you to all the online retailers for
putting so much of this music online... for me to find and link to
hotshabbat.com.

Have fun!
