[HANASHIR:14729] article/teaching methods thank you!! :-)

Thanks for sharing the article!

However, as funny as it was..I just have to correct this. In "Friends",
Rachel isn't Jewish. Ross (and Monica) are. I find that quite entertaining
that the auther of this article missed that minor detail. Oh well!

(I'm a Friends nut, forgive me!!!)

On a more relative note, I just wanted to thank all of you for your
responses about teaching methods. I know it's only been a couple of days,
but I've received some great ideas, so...thanks!!! The general consensus is
that absolutely 100% use songsheets. We have several camp songbooks, and I
recently created a new one that was more current. I use song sheets with
2nd grade and up. The problem with the going into K/1st is that they still
can't really read, and so the sheets become more of a frustrating
distraction than a learning aid. Most suggested singing through part of the
song, then teaching the chorus. With older kids people recommended teaching
the verses, but with younger kids, people said they catch on pretty quick if
I just sing them. Almost everyone suggested using motions to help younger
kids learn the songs, and instruments/other objects if possible for
enrichment.

As always, thanks for your expert advice!!!

~smile always~
