I have found that songsheets (a booklet-sheets stapled together) always has
been successful both for camp and school. And I also teach the chorus to the
k-3 for the songs in which the older kids learn in it's entirety - this way
they
can join in when we are all together. With songsheets they really can
concentrate on learning the song (and enjoying participating sooner) than going
line
by line (usually "Arlo Guthrie/P. Seeger style") which takes longer for them
to learn. I also like using sheets because it allows more songs to be covered
in a shorter period of time which allows for more variety and finding one
particular song that they really like, which helps with the next session! It's
what
works for me...just a few thoughts...
