[HANASHIR:14715] teaching methods question :-)

Hello!

So much for not bugging you guys for awhile!!! (I find this listserve so
fascinating...thank you so much...for all of your insight!!!)

As I begin to really buckle down and plan out specific lessons for camp, I
was wondering what your opinions were on teaching methods, based on the
age/situation. For example, with my 5/6 year olds I often teach the chorus,
but then just sing the verses "for" them (maybe while they play instruments
or something). Eventually they catch on. However with older kids I would
teach the whole thing. But even there, do you teach it line by line, verse
by verse, blah blah blah...

As I've mentioned, I work at a day camp, with children aged 5-12. What
types of song-teaching methods do you feel work the best for you, based on
the age group? Although camp is a slightly different atmosphere than a
classroom, I imagine that the techniques are basically the same. I'm open
to anything and everything!

If you could e-mail me privately that'd be great. <joyzee (at) hotmail(dot)com>
 If
people are interested I can compile the various techniques and post it all
at once.

Thank you SOOOOOO much!!!

~smile always~
