Beth, an idea for you...the students can share whatever instruments you 
have...in fact, it can be a fun game (and a good learning experience on 
sharing) to 
pass the shaker/grogger/tambourine to another person before the next verse or 
chorus...that way you also don't drown out the music with too much rhythm and 
some people still sing!
