Subject: RE: [HANASHIR:14457] Keeping Us Posted from Oconomowoc

Well, I'm back from Oconomowoc and I have to tell you....it was phenominal!
I was a newbie this year, but everyone was warm and welcoming. I don't think
I have ever sung so much in such a short period of time. We began singing
after breakfast and basically sung until late into the night, taking small
breaks for things like lunch and dinner. It was amazing to experience how
many extraordinarily talented musicians we have among us. I can't believe
how much I brought back with me, personally and professionally! We all
enjoyed the old and new music of some of our favorite musicians, new music
from people who came to learn and share, and we were also treated to an
extraordinary appearance from Theodore Bikel. He truely created a magical
experience for me. He sang in Yiddish, Russian, Hungarian (if I remember
correctly), and told wonderful stories. He treated us to "Rich Man" while
Achi ben-Shalom did a suuuuperb job accompanying him on guitar. I'm still
reeling from the past five days. I can't wait to sit down and listen to my
11 (yes, 11) tapes. I'm looking forward to reading insights from others who
attended.

B'Shalom,

Devora
