[HANASHIR:14457] Keeping Us Posted from Oconomowoc

Chaverim:

Once again schedule and other factors have conspired to prevent me from
attending the Hava Nashira workshop this year. My withdrawal symptoms are
getting bad. You can help me, and the many other subscribers on this list
who won't be in Oconomowoc over the next few days by keeping us all in the
loop. Perhaps some of you might even write some messages to the list during
the workshop itself (it has been done before), and we certainly want
participants to write after they return home with their impressions,
comments, things to share, etc.

Along with that, however, a caveat, learned from previous years. I ask those
of you who will have the good fortune to attend this year's workshop to
remember that many on this list were not so fortunate this year, or perhaps
have never been able to attend, so we'd all appreciate your sharing the
magic with us in ways that help us feel included rather than excluded. This
online community lives, in part, so it can be an extension of the special
community that is created each year at Hava Nashira. It does so by
recognizing that all of are in this together, sharing common interests and
passions.

On that note, I hope that, when you meet people at Hava Nashira who aren't
yet a part of this extended online community, that you will encourage them
to join so they can take the magic home with them and keep it year-round.

As previously reported, I am working with Robin Sellinger, Aura
Levin-Lipski, Daniel Hoffer and others to find ways to make the
www.ehavanashira.org website more useful to all of us, and combining our
resources. It might make an interesting topic for an informal discussion at
some point during the workshop to discuss what kinds of things we'd like to
see available to all of us. (Robin, perhaps you can take the lead on this?)

I wish all of you who are going to Oconomowoc a safe journey and a
meaningful experience. May Gd bless all of us involved in this holy work of
transmitting Jewish faith, knowledge and history through music.

B'vracha,
