Learning text through music is probably the reason we chant the Torah.
Scientists say it gets "filed" in a different part of the brain, with better
recall. People with speech disorders can *sing* words without problems...
So practically speaking - I teach the 12 Jewish months to the tune of
"Shalom Chaverim". It works!

PS there's a tune for remembering all 50 states in alphabetical order...
like Sholom, I can't keep up with my 10 year old!
