Cantor Ramon Tasat asked me to tell everyone about a new organization 
called Shalshelet: the Foundation for New Jewish Liturgical Music.

The mission of Shalshelet is to foster new music for Jewish congregational
use and to expose wider audiences to innovations in Jewish religious
music. The organization's website is at www.shalshelet.org.

Shalshelet plans to hold the First National Festival of New Jewish 
Liturgical Music in Spring 2004. 

There will be a preview concert on Sunday June 8, 2003, 7:30 pm, Tifereth
Israel Congregation, 7701 16th Street NW (16th and Juniper Streets),
Washington, DC.

The concert will feature the music of composers Norma Brooks, Ezra Fox,
Cantor Natasha J. Hirschhorn, Alan Minton, Rabbi David Schneyer, Rabbi
Ethan Seidel, and Cantor Ramon Tasat, with the Bountiful Light Choir.
