[HANASHIR:14223] RE: Neighbor Song

Now that you mention it, Fran and Ellen, not only do I use lots of Raffi
songs in my secular music classes, but I use "Thanks A Lot" in my Jewish
music classes as well, only I tell the kids to be really smart and echo back
with "todah rabbah." (Maybe it was Judy CG who made that good
suggestion...) I've even used it at children's services.

It's a rare adult audience that doesn't respond well to a "kids' song" or
two. I think that's especially true of retirement-age folks. The
simplicity of the lyrics and melodies makes it easy for them to follow
along. While they don't often do a lot of singing, they do like to follow
along with a songsheet as it seems to assist with comprehension and also
helps those who can't hear well.

So I was happy with any and all suggestions received from the hanashir list!

I applaud Ellen's message. My kids grew up with Raffi, too...

B'shalom and "Thanks A Lot",
