[HANASHIR:13727] regional conventions

I STRONGLY agree with the idea to have a couple of more local events spread 
out throughout the year.  I know that I was really excited to go to 
HavaNashira, but it is so, so far, and it's just not going to happen this 
spring.  Hopefully another year...

While I understand that it would be very difficult to have the number of 
well-known artists that will be at HavaNashira attend several smaller 
regional events (such as Debbie Friedman and Julie Silver...Jeff 
Klepper...etc. etc. etc), I still think that I personally would greatly 
benefit just from getting the chance to meet others on this listserve, and 
to share our music and ideas in person.

Would others be interested in having say...a Northeast conference sometime 
maybe next fall?  We could even find some hotel with cheap group rates, and 
set something up that way.  Rent a couple of conference rooms, and go for 
it.  I know that I helped to plan a youth group convention last spring in 
the Catskills, and it was very affordable and easy to set up.

Just a thought....
