[HANASHIR:13304] Music submissions for the Complete Jewish Songbook for Children: Manginot Volume II

Transcontinental Music, the UAHC Department of Religious Living & Synagogue 
Music, and the Department of Education invite you to submit musical material 
for inclusion in a new publication to be entitled, The Complete Jewish Songbook 
for Children: Manginot, Volume II. A decade has passed since Transcontinental 
Music published Manginot: 201 Songs for Jewish Schools. It continues to serve 
as a valuable resource in our Religious Schools for teaching music and Jewish 
concepts. This new volume will be a companion book to update and expand upon 
the first volume.

We are especially looking for the following:

        * New, creative, and teachable music for students in pre-school & in 
grades K - 8 for both formal and informal settings. Songs should seek to impart 
Jewish values, concepts, observances, or texts

        * Music that will coordinate with the three-pronged focus (Torah, 
Avodah, G'milut Chasadim) of the Chai Core Curriculum currently being developed 
by the UAHC Department of Education - for grades 2-7. To learn more about the

        * Music for the worship experiences in our Religious Schools

The deadline for submission of music is March 3, 2003. An editorial committee 
made up of rabbis, cantors, educators, and music specialists will review all 
submissions. We invite you to send us music you have composed or music written 
by others that you think should appear in the volume. Please send sheet music, 
recordings are not necessary. Please send all submissions to:
