[HANASHIR:13270] MLK song

If your school is planning to commemorate Martin Luther King, this may be of
interest to you.

I was requested this week to choose a familiar melody and write lyrics
pertaining to Martin Luther King to be sung at religious school on the 19th.
I've pasted the lyrics below. Feel free to use them with appropriate
attribution.

?Dr. King?s Dream?

Melody: Avadim Hayinu by S. Postolsky
Lyrics by Carol Boyd Leon

These lyrics were inspired by
Martin Luther King?s ?I Have A Dream? speech
Delivered on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial,
Washington, DC, August 28, 1963

We must strive for justice throughout the land.
Let?s march ahead together, hand in hand.
I have a dream, I have a dream.
We share the dream, we share the dream
That one day soon we?ll learn to live
In peace and harmony.
That is our dream.

Let people not be judged by the color of their skin.
Instead let us be judged by what is within.
I have a dream. I have a dream.
We share the dream, we share the dream.
That one day soon we?ll treat eachother
Like sisters and like brothers.
That is our dream.

When we let freedom ring, closer comes the day
That we are all united -- for this we pray.
I have a dream, I have a dream.
We share the dream, we share the dream
That one day soon we?ll sing together,
?We are free at last!?
That is our dream.
