[HANASHIR:13170] Re: Non- profit 501?

Rahel,

The best advice I can give you (and not just because I am one) is to go see a
CPA. 501(c)(3) approvals require a large amount of paperwork to be filed
with the IRS. You will need orginanizing documents, financial records and
projections, a listing of your board of directors and their duties, as well
as several other pieces of information.

Usually a good CPA will offer discounts to not-for-profit organizations, so
you shouldn't be out too much in cost. Also, remember that it is illegal to
purport yourself as a 501(c)(3) or to solicit tax-deductible contributions
until the IRS has ruled on your application.

Check out www.irs.gov as well as <A

CPA.
