Marsha,
I concur with Steve and Noah.  While I admire your accompanist for his/her 
integrity with regards to copyright laws, I suspect that it is OK for the 
accompanist to work from a copy of a song as long as you have purchased a 
legal song collection.  If you are not performing the song for profit or 
selling copies of it, it should be OK.  For ease of performance, my 
accompanist plays from three ring binders of all of the music we do in our 
services.  That way she is not juggling music everywhere and slowing down the 
service.  I also work from the prayerbook and a three ring binder with 
copies.  I also own a legal copy of every piece we use.  Good luck.
