[HANASHIR:12730] recording

I was at the Book Fair in Houston, TX this past weekend and picked up a CD that
I am sure all who have attended Hava Nashira will enjoy. It is called TGIS
(Thank G-d It's Shabbat) and contains the music from the Friday evening
services at Congregation Beth Yeshurun in Houston with Cantor David Propis and
Composer/Pianist Allan Naplan.
The disc is nicely produced with piano, guitar and light percussion and David
and Allan both have very appealing voices. But best of all it contains many of
the melodies that we associate now with Hava Nashira. Twenty three tracks in
all with a good mix of traditional, chassidic and new including:

Shefa Gold's Ma Gadlu
Lewandowski's Tzadik Katamar
Sheva's Hal'lu
Selections by Debbie, Craig, Jeff and Danny, Sol Zim, Michael Isaacson, and
more.

For those who have been to Hava Nashira it will bring back memories and for
those who have never attended it will give you a little taste (minus the lush
harmonies spontaneously created) of the type of music and repertoire we sing
there.
The disc is very pleasing to listen to and I highly recommend it as a resource
for learning a variety of Shabbat evening music.

It is available from Tara at www.jewishmusic.com or by calling 800 827-2403.
