[HANASHIR:12719] Jewish festival

I got this e-mail from Michelle who is looking to try to put together a Jewish
festival in the NY area next fall. She is looking for other Jewish musicians
to brainstorm or help her put things together. Here is her post. Please
respond to her privately at the e-mail in her post if you have questions or are
interested in helping.

My name is Michelle from New York. My friend and I are interested
in creating a music festival for jews all over the tri-state area, for
the beginning of next fall (we had in mind chol hamoed sukot 2003). My
friend already plays for a band called Havdala and he has many musician
friends that play in other bands. They play small venues in New York
and are looking to get together with other musicians from various jewish
music backgrounds to create one large concert -- like a jewish woodstock.
The festival would also create an opportunity for jewish artists to showcase
their work. It would also be
a good opportunity for starting bands to get recognition.
We are looking for people who can help put our idea together. We have some
ideas for funding and connections to park permits but, there are still other
loose ends like stage production...more money and funding (sponsors), talent
and other details that pertain to putting the festival together. I definitely
think it can be successful in the sense of drawing large and diverse Jews
together, through music and art. If you are interested, you can reach me at:
