I thought I would mention a neat way to collect and store all the great
suggestions that we get on this list. When my Outlook Express window pops
open, I have folders that appear. For example, there's the Inbox, Outbox,
Sent Mail, Deleted Mail etc. I've also created new folders and in some
cases, subfolders of those folders. So, for example, I have a Hanashir
folder, and the subfolders in that folder are all named for holidays or
categories (like wedding songs, Bar/Bat Mitzvah songs etc.).
When someone emails the list with a song suggestion (either just a title of
a song, or the actual lyrics), I drag that email into the folder. When I
need a song for a Bar/Bat Mitzvah, I review the emails in that folder. It's
a great resource.
Before I got the hanashir emails via digest, it was easy to drag individual
emails into each folder. Now that I get the hanashir emails as a digest,
it's still fairly easy. Within the digested hanashir email which contains
multiple emails from all of you, I highlight, with my mouse, the email that
I want to save. Click on reply. When the new email window comes up, the
highlighted email that I want to save from the digest list appears in my new
email window. I change the "To" address to my own email address and then
email it to myself. When it arrives in my Inbox, I then drag it to the
folder in which I want to store it. It works like a charm!
Happy organizing!
