[HANASHIR:12442] Re: Wedding Suggestions

I believe Judith's original request was for "gender-neutral" wedding songs.
Perhaps the following songs could be helpful:

FOREVER DODI LI
(Hebrew from the Jewish wedding liturgy)

Dodi li,
As I give to you this ring
I join my soul to yours
For whatever life may bring.

Dodi li,
As we journey through the years,
I'll hold your hand in mine,
Sharing happiness and tears.

The world is always changing
And so are we.
But still, my love,
Forever you'll be dodi li.

        äÂøÅé àÇúÌÀ îÀ÷ËãÌÆÍùÑÆú ìÄé.

Ha-rei at m'ku-de-shet li,
We stand beneath the chuppah
And dream of what may be.

äÂøÅé àÇúÌÈä îÀ÷ËãÌÈùÑ ìÄé.

Ha-rei a-tah m'ku-dash li,
You are my heart?s desire,
Joined in holiness to me.

Dodi li,
May the sharing of our love
Fill the years that lie ahead
And be blessed by God above.

Dodi li,
Of the blessings that I've known,
The most wondrous of them all
Is that you're my very own.

(There are also anniversary lyrics for "Forever Dodi Li")

TWO SOULS UNITED
(Lyrics adapted from the Ba'al Shem Tov)

>From every human being
There rises a light,
That reaches straight to heaven,
And when two souls
That are destined to be together
Find each other,
They find each other,
Their streams of light,
Their streams of light flow together.

And a single brighter light,
Goes forth, goes forth
>From their united being,
>From their united being.

(Both songs c 2002 by C.B.Leon, available in "Jewish Life Cycle" songbook or
separately)
