[HANASHIR:12425] Re: Noah Verse

Thank you for recognizing the late Rabbi Chaim Stern for penning the lyrics
to "This Is Very Good." Rabbi Stern spent the last few weeks of his life as
Senior Rabbi at my Temple, Temple Israel in Miami, Florida. He introduced
us to this song, and we use it on Yom Kippur afternoon. We also sing it in
Spanish during our monthly Spanish Kabbalat Shabbat. The Musical Director
at St. Patrick's Catholic Cathedral in Miami Beach is now also using this
song in her liturgy.

(Rabbi) Jeff Salkin and I wrote one Noah verse, as follows:

God said to Noah, the skies are getting dark
The rains are gonna come, so go and build an ark
Gather all the animals and put them all in pairs
Tigers and bears, sparrows hawks and apes

So Noah and his family were safe and dry,
as rain came down from the sky
And they said:

40 days of rain, 40 days of rain
Man, woman and child will live again
40 days of rain, 40 days of rain
Man, woman and child will live again

This is recorded on the A.R.E. tape called Bible People.

And for the record, the original "This Is Very Good" lyrics were penned by
the late Rabbi Chaim Stern.
