  I was raised as a Methodist and sang this song countless times both in 
Sunday school and at "vacation bible school." I can't for the life of me ever 
thinking about jesus when singing the first verse. That would be silly. Even 
in a christian setting we knew that it was God who told Moses to build the 
ark. Ellen, I use this song all the time for kid's services at religious 
school. If left to their own devices they would close the service with it 
every week. It's definately a favorite. We don't have quite as many verses 
though, with all the movement in the song we would be exhausted if we sang 
that many. Go For It!
