[HANASHIR:12178] Re: Intergenerational Choir

Dear Rachelle,

I had a "family choir" for 7 years...no pitfalls, only fabulous! The only
thing I would suggest is that you are careful in choosing repertoire that will
be both easy enough and challenging enough...and that if you choose music that
is not usually appreciated by youngsters, you introduce it carefully to excite
them about the new "style" and what it has to offer.

Subject: [HANASHIR:12168] Intergenerational Choir

Our temple adult choir is in its third year and I thought we could add a new
dimension at our Chanukah service this year by launching an intergenerational
choir. My plan is that for 4 or 5 rehearsals prior to Chanukah, I would
invite families and people of all ages to join us and learn the Chanukah
repertoire. Anyone had any experience with this kind of thing? Pitfalls I
should avoid? Things that absolutely must be done?
Thanks,
Rachelle
