I am happy to announce that my new 44-page songbook, "Songs From The Heart:
THE JEWISH LIFE CYCLE" is now available.
It includes original sheet music (melody and chords), plus songsheets with
the English and Hebrew for 18 songs, some of which were presented at CAJE
last summer and the Women Cantor's Network conference this month. Included
are songs for some of the life cycle events for which songs are often hard
to find. All are quite easy to sing by cantors, cantorial soloists, or
songleaders and most are solos. However, there are parts for children to
sing in the Consecration song, Aseh L'cha Rav, and "Guide Our Steps" was
written for teens to sing. Also included are a few congregational melodies,
such as Mi Shebeirach and a lively Shehecheyanu.
Listed below are the contents and some suggested occasions for use:
1. A Song Of Life (Baby Naming)
2. Birkat Yeladim (Baby Naming, Fri Night, Birthday)
3. Consecration Day (guess!)
4. Wrapped in Holiness (Tallit Blessing)
5. You Open Our Hearts (Bar/Bat Mitzvah)
6. You Are My Child (Bar/Bat Mitzvah)
7. Guide Our Steps (Confirmation)
8. Two Souls United (Wedding)
9. Forever Dodi Li (Anniversary and Wedding)
10. I Stand Before You (Adult Bar/Bat Mitzvah)
11. Our People Are Your People (Conversion)
12. Aseh L'cha Rav (Teacher Appreciation)
13. Gur Ba'aretz Hazot (Visiting Israel)
14. From Strength To Strength (Synagogue Leadership)
15. Nakum Uvaninu (Building a Synagogue or School)
16. Mi Shebeirach (For Healing)
17. We Will Remember Them (Yizkor, In Memorium)
18. Shehecheyanu (Lots of happy occasions!)
The cost of the songbook is $18. For members of this list who email in
response to this announcement, there is no shipping fee (normally $3.50).
To place an order, please email me directly at:

(Please do NOT place an order by pressing "Reply" because that will go to
the entire list.)
Some people have asked me whether there will be a companion CD to this
songbook. The honest answer is eventually, but I expect not for another
year or two. Because this songbook is intended for music professionals, I
felt there is value to you in issuing it before the recording. I think
you'll find many songs you'll want to use at your own worship services.

P.S. The "Songs From The Heart: FAMILY SHABBAT" songbook and CD continue to
be available from SoundsWrite (soundswrite.com) and Tara (jewishmusic.com)
as well as directly from me. The SAB choral version of Shalom Rav is only
available directly from me.
